<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hands-On With Nintendo&#8217;s Joy-Filled Evolution</h2>

<p>After months of rumors and speculation, I finally got to spend quality time with the Nintendo Switch 2, and let me tell you—Nintendo&#8217;s latest creation had me grinning like a kid who just found the secret warp zone in Super Mario Bros. The house of Mario unveiled their newest console yesterday in a packed 60-minute livestream that reminded everyone why Nintendo remains the undisputed champion of gaming joy.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Nintendo Switch 2: More Than Just an Upgrade</h2>

<p>Let&#8217;s get one thing straight: the Nintendo Switch 2 isn&#8217;t trying to compete with the pixel-pushing powerhouses from Sony and Microsoft. Instead, Nintendo has focused on refining what made the original Switch so revolutionary while adding just enough new tricks to justify the upgrade.</p>

<p>The most noticeable change is the gorgeous 7.9-inch screen displaying crisp 1080p visuals that make the original Switch look like you&#8217;ve been playing with cataracts. Colors pop with that signature Nintendo vibrancy, and I found myself staring slack-jawed at demo footage like a tourist gawking at Times Square billboards.</p>

<p>But the real magic is in the redesigned Joy-Con controllers. Nintendo finally ditched those fiddly rail sliders that I always managed to put on backward (please tell me I&#8217;m not alone in this) and replaced them with strong magnets that snap into place with satisfying precision. The buttons are larger too, which means my adult-sized thumbs no longer feel like they&#8217;re trying to text on a BlackBerry from 2005.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-video"><video autoplay loop preload="auto" src="https://assets.nintendo.com/video/upload/q_auto/f_auto/ccb3e8ca3c296e21a8c933e8369031511589d0ef6b079cf5bb3667b09893482c/features/videos/1-HW-top-montage-7s.webm"></video></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Rolling With the New Joy-Cons</h2>

<p>The most innovative addition to the Nintendo Switch 2 controllers is the ingenious rollerball feature. Each Joy-Con now functions as a mouse, opening up new control possibilities that I didn&#8217;t know I needed until now. During the demonstration, they showed off a wheelchair basketball game where you slide the controllers along a surface to simulate pushing the wheels—a clever touch that showcases Nintendo&#8217;s commitment to both innovation and inclusivity.</p>

<p>&#8220;We didn&#8217;t want to just make a more powerful Switch,&#8221; explained Shigeru Miyamoto through a translator during the presentation. &#8220;We wanted to create new ways to play.&#8221; As someone who&#8217;s been covering Nintendo for over a decade, this philosophy is exactly why they continue to thrive in an industry obsessed with frame rates and ray tracing.</p>

<div class="wp-block-cover aligncenter" style="padding-top:0;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0;padding-left:0;min-height:470px;aspect-ratio:unset;"><span aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-cover__background has-background-dim-0 has-background-dim"></span><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="877" height="379" class="wp-block-cover__image-background wp-image-9589" alt="Nintendo Switch 2" src="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/nintendo-switch-2-transparent.png" data-object-fit="cover" srcset="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/nintendo-switch-2-transparent.png 877w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/nintendo-switch-2-transparent-300x130.png 300w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/nintendo-switch-2-transparent-768x332.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 877px) 100vw, 877px" /><div class="wp-block-cover__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-cover-is-layout-60e373fc wp-block-cover-is-layout-constrained">
<p></p>

<figure class="wp-block-video"><video height="1080" style="aspect-ratio: 1920 / 1080;" width="1920" autoplay loop poster="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/nintendo-logo.png" preload="auto" src="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HW-features-Handheld-Mode-DKB-7s.webm"></video></figure>
</div></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mario Kart World: Taking the Wheel to New Places</h2>

<p>Speaking of new ways to play, Mario Kart World looks set to revolutionize Nintendo&#8217;s flagship racing series. Taking inspiration from open-world driving games like Forza Horizon, you can now freely explore a massive world rather than being confined to traditional circuits. Don&#8217;t worry though—the classic races are still there, but now you can also participate in cross-country endurance races with up to 24 drivers simultaneously!</p>

<p>I&#8217;m particularly excited about the free-roam mode that lets you take leisurely drives with friends. Imagine cruising through a Mushroom Kingdom sunset while catching up with buddies—it&#8217;s like social media for people who hate social media.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-full"><img decoding="async" width="900" height="506" src="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Nintendo-Switch-2-with-Mario.avif" alt="Nintendo Switch 2 - Mario Cart Offer" class="wp-image-9583" srcset="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Nintendo-Switch-2-with-Mario.avif 900w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Nintendo-Switch-2-with-Mario-300x169.jpg 300w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Nintendo-Switch-2-with-Mario-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Nintendo Switch 2 Social Experience</h2>

<p>Nintendo has always understood that gaming is better with friends, and the Switch 2 doubles down on this with the addition of a dedicated C button that instantly launches GameChat. This feature lets you start conversations with friends and family who own Switch 2 consoles, even if you&#8217;re playing different games.</p>

<p>For those willing to shell out extra for the Switch 2 camera accessory, video chat becomes an option—essentially turning your console into what the presenter called &#8220;a sort of candy-colored version of Zoom.&#8221; Several trailers even showed friends&#8217; video feeds being incorporated into gameplay, which is exactly the kind of delightfully embarrassing feature that Nintendo excels at creating. I can already hear my mother asking why her face is suddenly a power-up in Mario Kart.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Price of Joy</h2>

<p>Now, let&#8217;s address the Bowser in the room: pricing. The Nintendo Switch 2 will launch at £395.99, or £429.99 if bundled with Mario Kart World. The games themselves are seeing a price bump too, with Mario Kart World retailing for a wallet-wincing £75.</p>

<p>Is it worth it? If you consider that Mario Kart 8 provided hundreds of hours of entertainment throughout the entire lifespan of the original Switch, I&#8217;d argue yes. Nintendo games tend to have staying power that makes their cost-per-hour of entertainment remarkably reasonable—unlike certain other AAA titles that charge you $70 for a weekend&#8217;s worth of gameplay.</p>

<div style="text-align: center;">
    <iframe width="740" height="450" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/3pE23YTYEZM?si=GR6u1ls_bDK1cgfa" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pre-Order Panic on the Horizon?</h2>

<p>Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 open on April 8, and I&#8217;m already having flashbacks to the PS5 and Xbox Series X launch nightmares. Scalpers turned those releases into expensive fiascos, with some PS5s selling for upwards of $2,000 due to limited availability.</p>

<p>Will Nintendo be prepared? Their track record with supply chains has been spotty—remember the great Amiibo shortage of 2014? Or trying to find a Wii during its first Christmas? I&#8217;ve already set seventeen calendar reminders and plan to have multiple devices ready for pre-order day. I suggest you do the same if you want to avoid paying obscene markups on eBay.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Final Verdict on Nintendo Switch 2</h2>

<p>In a gaming landscape dominated by increasingly similar black boxes promising ever-higher numbers, the Nintendo Switch 2 is a breath of fresh air—a reminder that innovation in gaming doesn&#8217;t always mean more polygons or faster load times. Sometimes, it means finding new ways to bring people together through play.</p>

<p>The Nintendo Switch 2 isn&#8217;t trying to be the most powerful console on the market. Instead, it&#8217;s focused on being the most joyful, and from what I&#8217;ve seen, it succeeds brilliantly. In our current economic climate where every purchase requires careful consideration, Nintendo is asking you to invest in something increasingly rare: genuine fun.</p>

<p>Pre-orders open April 8th, and my credit card is already weeping in anticipation. But like a parent at Christmas who spends too much on the perfect gift, I know the smiles will be worth it. After all, nobody does joy quite like Nintendo.</p>

<p><strong>Hogwarts Legacy – A Spellbinding RPG or Just Another Muggle Game?</strong></p>

<p><em>Accio, gamers! Grab your wands and butterbeer as we dive into the enchanting world of &#8220;Hogwarts Legacy.&#8221; Is it the spellbinding experience we&#8217;ve all been waiting for, or does it fizzle out faster than a dud firework from Weasleys&#8217; Wizard Wheezes? Let&#8217;s find out!</em></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">A Stroll Through the Castle</h3>

<p>Any <strong><a href="https://www.hogwartslegacy.com/en-us" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hogwarts Legacy</a> </strong>review wouldn’t be complete without talking about the game’s breathtaking open world. The castle is a sprawling labyrinth of moving staircases, talking portraits, and enough hidden nooks to make even the Marauder&#8217;s Map jealous. Exploring its vast halls feels like stepping directly into the pages of the books or scenes from the films. It&#8217;s a visual feast that will have you pausing to admire the intricate details at every turn.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy_School_1-1024x576.jpg" alt="Hogwarts Legacy Review - Inside the castle" class="wp-image-9575" srcset="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy_School_1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy_School_1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy_School_1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy_School_1-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy_School_1-1280x720.jpg 1280w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy_School_1.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Casting Spells and Taking Names</h3>

<p>When it comes to combat, <em>Hogwarts Legacy</em> offers a spellbinding experience. The spellcasting mechanics are intuitive, allowing players to seamlessly chain together various spells in duels that feel dynamic and engaging. It&#8217;s not just about waving your wand; strategic thinking and timing play crucial roles in overcoming foes, making each encounter a thrilling test of your magical prowess.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy-CastingSpells-1024x576.jpg" alt="Hogwarts Legacy Review - Casting Spells" class="wp-image-9576" srcset="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy-CastingSpells-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy-CastingSpells-300x169.jpg 300w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy-CastingSpells-768x432.jpg 768w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy-CastingSpells-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy-CastingSpells-1280x720.jpg 1280w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacy-CastingSpells.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">A Tale of Two Halves</h3>

<p>The storyline, however, is where opinions start to diverge. While the initial hours are filled with wonder and excitement, some players have noted that the narrative loses momentum as the game progresses. The main plot, centered around ancient magic and goblin rebellions, has been described as somewhat predictable, lacking the depth and twists that fans might hope for. Additionally, the side quests, though numerous, often fall into repetitive patterns, diminishing the sense of adventure over time.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview-Troll-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9577" srcset="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview-Troll-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview-Troll-300x169.jpg 300w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview-Troll-768x432.jpg 768w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview-Troll-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview-Troll-1280x720.jpg 1280w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview-Troll.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Student Life: A Missed Opportunity</h3>

<p>One of the most anticipated aspects of <em>Hogwarts Legacy</em> was the chance to experience life as a Hogwarts student. While the game offers glimpses into this through classes and interactions, many feel that it doesn&#8217;t delve deep enough. The day-to-day activities of student life are somewhat superficial, leaving players yearning for a more immersive experience that captures the essence of being a young witch or wizard in training.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview_School-Life-1024x576.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-9578" srcset="https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview_School-Life-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview_School-Life-300x169.jpg 300w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview_School-Life-768x432.jpg 768w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview_School-Life-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview_School-Life-1280x720.jpg 1280w, https://proreviewhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/HogwartsLegacyReview_School-Life.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Verdict</h3>

<p>So, is <em>Hogwarts Legacy</em> worth your Galleons? If you&#8217;re a die-hard Potterhead eager to explore the Wizarding World in a new light, the game offers a visually stunning and engaging experience that will undoubtedly delight. However, if you&#8217;re seeking a deep, narrative-driven RPG that captures all facets of student life at Hogwarts, you might find it lacking in certain areas. It&#8217;s a magical journey, but perhaps not the complete spellbinding experience some might have hoped for.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">FAQ:</h2>

<div id="rank-math-faq" class="rank-math-block">
<div class="rank-math-list ">
<div id="faq-question-1712679140120" class="rank-math-list-item">
<h3 class="rank-math-question "><strong>What are the performance trade-offs between utilizing bifurcation modes for M.2 storage and graphics cards?</strong></h3>
<div class="rank-math-answer ">

<p>X570 chipsets allow bifurcating the PCIe x16 slot, typically used for graphics cards, into two x8 lanes.
